Our staff worked on the eight-phase, thirteen-year, $500M historic renovation and building systems replacement project for what is the last and largest building renovation in the Federal Triangle. Built in the 1930's, this 2,000,000 SF office building includes the Department of Commerce Headquarters, the White House Visitor Center, offices for the National Park Service and the National Aquarium.
Major elements of the project include cleaning and restoration of the historical facade with all new hardscape, all new mechanical, life-safety and electrical services and infrastructure, seismic and security upgrades, complete office renovation and upgrades throughout, food service and cafeteria replacement and relocation of the National Aquarium within the building.
