NIH has identified a need to develop a state-of-the-art facility that supports both NIH and new congressional medical research initatives to improve the nation's health and strengthen NIH's biomedical research capacity in close proximity to the Clinical Research Center. Hanscomb will be verifying and validating the approved NIH-developed Program of Requirements (POR) for the 475,000 SF (385,000 SF new building plus 90,000 SF renovation) to house critical hospital functions. This includes construction sequencing, reviewing and updating estimated costs, and providing order-of-magnitude budgetary cost estimates for recommended major installed lab/medical equipment anticipated for the new spaces.
