A series of different repurposing and enhancement projects at the largest hotel in New York City, with over 2,000 rooms. Projects included conversion of meeting rooms; expansion of the lobby and creation of a larger entrance from the motor court; addition of glass-enclosed retail space under the porte cochere; investigation of advertising being added to the exterior envelope; mechanical and electrical upgrades; and various cosmetic changes to lobby retail and restaurants. The hotel will remain occupied and operating throughout the various projects, requiring a complicated phasing plan. Services provided January 2014 – July 2015.
