Project management services supporting AZ Global Engineering for a new office building on AstraZeneca’s MedImmune Gaithersburg, Maryland campus.  Services commencing in the spring of 2016 include support for master planning, programming, design and construction phase procurement as well as  oversight for the construction phase. The project is a primarily an office expansion, but will also include an expansion of the campus’ conference facilities.

Electrical Upgrades

Role: Project Management

Project Management services to oversee campus-wide medium and high voltage electrical upgrades.  Responding to need for utility reliabilitiy, consistency and redundancy at AstraZeneca’s Gaithersburg campus, the Hanscomb team is supporting AZ Global Engineering staff in the areas of design management, budgeting/estimating, procurement, and execution oversight of this critical infrastructure upgrade. The project involves planning and implementing a sub-station upgrade with PEPCO, installing new medium and high voltage ductbanks, vaults, switches and gear on an active campus, and includes traffic and pedestrian control plans, temporary protections to existing buildings and pathways,  quality assurance and safety. Paralleling gear installed as part of the upgrade will tie campus redundant power resources together with a new combined heat and power system to support island operation of the campus during a utility outage.
